Rapid Ear Movement (REM)

Now in its fifth year, The Music of Now Marathon, “a massive gathering of adventurous musicmakers”(Time Out New York) continues to be a destination for the newest sounds on the musical landscape. This year, join us for a sonic dream journey with an electrifying range of soloists and ensembles. Like the vivid dreams of REM sleep, Rapid Ear Movement explores varied musical scenarios, lucid–and irrational– interpretations, and unexpected and inexplicable events.

I’ll be performing at this year’s Music of Now Marathon where I’ll premiere a new song cycle “La Búsqueda (The Search)”. This new work is comprised of three new electro-acoustic songs that explore the mysterious disappearance of a girl in an unknown town. The amazing percussionist Shayna Dunkelman and my good friend multi-instrumentalist and folk musician Enrique Bayoán will join me on stage. This year’s line-up is truly unbelievable so come out on Saturday!
